Our strength is pilina: relationships rooted in trust, reciprocity, and collective care. That’s how communities stay informed, protected, and connected. Together, as ʻohana and familia, we stand for dignity, constitutional rights, and a Maui where everyone belongs.

Our Story

Created prior to the 2024 election, as tensions were escalating and the fears and needs of our immigrant communities were becoming increasingly visible, El Pueblo en Acción (EPA) Maui was formed to ensure our community would not face these challenges alone. 

Born from the work of Roots Reborn, who continues to support our operational backbone, EPA is growing into its own volunteer-run collaborative—rooted in community and built for the long term. 

Together, we are developing shared leadership, collective sustainability, and an expanding circle of allied organizations committed to a shared vision of community care, protection, and solidarity.
